Praise the Lord for a successful fundraiser on Saturday!
THANK YOU to our wonderful parents, students, staff, school family, and church family for all your hard work. It was an amazing day, and none of it would have happened without the grace of our God.

We are thankful for all the great businesses and individuals who donated items for the live auction, as well as for all the people who baked goods for the silent and live auctions. And thank you to all the great people who came out and supported RCA by investing their hard-earned money in our students' future. When we finalize the total amount raised we will share it with you.
Progress reports will be sent home this week. If you have any questions about your child’s grades, please contact their teacher.
Spring Break is March 17-21. We are still three weeks away, so let's not let the students fall into vacation mode too early. Students need to be at school on time and working hard in the classroom.

RCA School T-Shirts It is around this time of year when students start growing out of their clothes. If you would like to order a RCA school t-shirt please do so using the link below. THE DEADLINE TO ORDER IS THIS THURSDAY.

PIZZA PARTY! Next Monday, RCA will provide pizza for all RCA students. We want to express our appreciation to them for all their hard work before, during, and after the fundraiser. Please send your child’s favorite drink with them to school this day, plus snacks for break time. If your child has dietary needs, please communicate this with their teacher.
Parents, thank you for your commitment to RCA. Let’s continue to work and go forward together. Please remember us in your prayers.

BBQ/Auction Week is Here: Weekly Letter

BBQ/AUCTION WEEK IS HERE!

The BBQ Dinner and Auction is this Saturday—February 22!! We hope you are e. There is still time left to donate and solicit items for the fundraiser. BBQ ticket money was due this past Friday. If you have not turned in your money for the tickets, please do so as soon as possible.
If you are bringing in an auction item, please have it to the school by Friday morning, preferably sooner.

Auction Items Needed: We have some nice vacations, hunting trips, and theme park tickets, but we could use some benches, fire pits, quilts, and things of this nature.

Parent/Student Jobs: Duties for parents have been sent out! We need to hear back from you as soon as possible to confirm that you can work the assigned shift. Thank you! If you have any questions or concerns, please send an email to [email protected] .

LARGE TO-GO ORDERS: If you have sold tickets to an individual or business and they plan on getting 10 or more To-Go plates at one time, please let them know to contact us at 512-360-3109 or [email protected] .

Meat Cutters: We can use 1 or 2 people to help cut the brisket on Saturday. If you can help with this please contact me directly at, 512.560.3357 .

Bake Sale Items: Please let us know if you are donating a baked item so we know how to prepare the silent and live auction item list.

This Thursday, February 29, students in LC 3 and up should bring clothes that can get dirty—we will be breaking down desks and cleaning in the afternoon. Also on Thursday, there will be NO HEAT ups. STUDENTS MAY WEAR JEANS!

Remember, there is no school on Friday, February 21, as all staff will be setting up for the fundraiser. On Monday, February 24, all students may wear jeans with an RCA shirt to school.
Please have your student wear this year's school t-shirt to the Fundraiser this Saturday.
We could use plastic grocery bags for the to-go room--if you have any you can donate, please bring them in this week!

We are so thankful for your commitment to RCA. As we prepare for this weekend, we feel blessed to have such a great group of students/parents/grandparents praying for our school.

Music Lessons at RCA

Happy Monday!
We are excited to share that we found a music teacher! If you are interested in signing up your child for music lessons (vocal, piano, ukulele), please fill out the ONLINE FORM, and someone will contact you. Lessons are for students 5 years old and older. The classes are $20 per class, with a one-time $25 signup fee. For more information, please see the ONLINE FORM. The deadline to sign up for lessons is Friday, February 14.
Here is a message from Mrs. Kerrie:
Thank you for the opportunity to teach music lessons at RCA.
In the past, before retiring from Child Protective Services, I have had much experience in communicating with children and having a good rapport with them. I have also had experience in preparing a lesson plan and teaching classes by following the lesson plan when teaching the DARE program in the Roby, TX, and Rotan, TX School Districts.
I have lived in or around the Sweetwater, TX area all of my life, moving to Bastrop, TX in September 2019. I have become familiar with the area and the people of the area.
I was a member of the Sweetwater Lions Club, the Broadway Baptist Church where I played the organ for 11 years, and the Sweetwater Municipal Band. I currently am a member of the Hills Prairie Baptist Church where I serve as the pianist. I have also served on various Board of Directors, including The Child Advocacy Center in Sweetwater, TX, The Rape Crisis Center, and The Noah Project In Snyder, TX.
I was raised in the Fundamental Baptist Church in Sweetwater, TX, (now Broadway Baptist). I became a Christian in 1968 when I was ten years old. I followed the Lord's commandment of immersion baptism & joined Fundamental Baptist a week later.
I have served the Lord in many different capacities since then, mostly in the music ministries.

Weekly Letter February 3, 2025

Welcome to the first week in February, and our 3rd week of the 3rd quarter.
Kindergarten graduation is this Wednesday at 6:00 pm. We are excited for our LC 2 students and their BIG night! You are invited to join us, as we celebrate their accomplishments.
Our class Valentine's Day Parties are next Friday, February 14th. Please review your child’s class group messages for more information.

The BBQ Auction Fundraiser is 3 weeks away! Parents, the next few weeks are critical–we must be out selling BBQ tickets and requesting donations for the auction. We also need each family to contribute an item or service toward the live auction. Thank you for getting out there and spreading the word. Don’t forget to share the Facebook post advertising our fundraiser and auction items.

Beans: We are looking for volunteers to help cook pinto beans for the fundraiser meal. If you can help with this, please let us know. We will provide everything needed to cook them.
Donations: If any parents are available to act as chaperones and take students out to speak to businesses about donations for the fundraiser, please let us know

Class Baskets: Parents, teachers sent information about your child’s class basket for the auction. We need everyone to be involved in contributing to the class basket. If you haven’t already, please communicate with your child’s teacher on how you plan to contribute.

LC7 Auction Setup: On Friday, February 1, all LC7 students are required to be at school to help set up for the auction. If you have any questions about this, please contact me directly.
Tuition Payments: Remember that tuition payments are due on the first of the month. Parents, please remember to reach out to me if, for any reason, your payment will not be received by the 5th of the month.

Early Enrollment: This month we are accepting early enrollment applications for the 2025-2026 school year. We are excited for siblings who will be joining us next year, but early enrollment is for current students only. After February 28, early enrollment will be closed; roster spots will be made available to students on the waitlist and new incoming students.

Music Lessons: We have a music teacher interested in teaching ukulele, piano, and vocal lessons at RCA. Music lessons will be for students 5 years old and older. Lessons will be $20 per lesson. Later in the week, I will email a survey for you to fill out if you are interested in music lessons for your child.
