RCA Weekly Letter: September 15th

You can’t have a great week of school without a great Monday and Tuesday!As I walked through our classrooms today, I was encouraged to see students working diligently and staying focused on completing their assignments. Parents, you play such an important role in helping your student stay on track. One simple way to help is by giving a little extra attention to homework slips and checking in about assignments at home.
We are in the second week of our first quarter, and we want to start strong! Remember, your child’s teacher is available to you. If you have questions or concerns about your student’s progress, please reach out. You can also arrange a time to meet with the teacher in person.

We are thankful for parents who take an active role in their child’s education. Working together—students, parents, and teachers—we can make this a great school year!

Picture Day: Volunteers Needed
On Tuesday, September 22, it is RCA Picture Day. We could use 1 or 2 volunteers to help teachers and photographers direct students. We will need volunteers to be here from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm. If you would like to help, please contact Ms. Sue in the school office.

See You At The Pole
The global day of student-led prayer is on Wednesday, September 23, beginning at 7:30 a.m. (please have your student at school by 7:25 am). We will meet at the RCA flag pole, and our LC 7 students will lead the school in prayer. Parents are welcome to stay and spectate! Students who attend SYATP are allowed to wear jeans and their SYATP t-shirt or an RCA school shirt. We will have breakfast items available for all students in the Fellowship Hall afterward.

Grandparents Day
RCA Families, our Grandparents & Grandfriends Day Potluck Lunch is coming up on September 25 at 11:00 a.m.! We’re asking each family to sign up to bring one food item per student, and we also need a few parent volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up. We typically have 300+ guests, so every contribution helps!

Scripture Memory Verses
Students have their class scripture memory due each week. Parents, you can help with this by practicing with your child.

Tardies
This week we will start marking Tardies for students who are not in the Fellowship Hall at 8:20 AM. At Parent Orientation, I informed everyone that this year if a student has more than 5 tardies per quarter, they will not be allowed to participate in their class field trip.

Dear RCA Families,

Happy First Day of School!

We are excited to welcome back our RCA Eagles and are grateful to have new families joining us this year. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year together!
Parent Information PacketIf you did not receive your Parent Information Packet at Parent Orientation, it will be sent home with your child today. Please return all required forms by Friday, September 11, so that we can begin updating our records. Thank you for your help with this!
If you have already turned in your student’s paperwork but information or signatures are missing, we will send the appropriate forms home for you to complete.
Water BottlesAlthough water fountains are available, we encourage every student to bring a reusable water bottle to school each day.
Office Hours & Student Pick-UpMrs. Sue, our school secretary, is available from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Her office is located in the church building.
If you are picking up your child before 3:30 PM, please visit her office to sign your child out.
If you have a student driver, they will not be allowed to leave school without a note signed and dated by a parent or guardian.

Your child’s safety is our top priority!

For the safety and protection of all our students, we will not release your child to anyone who is not listed on their authorized pick-up list unless you have contacted the school in advance.

If someone other than you or your spouse will be picking up your child, please notify the school ahead of time and make sure that person is authorized to pick up your child.

ElectivesYour elective teacher will contact you with information about the class, including payment information.
If you are interested in signing your child up for Art or Music, it is not too late! Please use the link below to register. The class schedule will be put together this week, so please sign up at your earliest convenience.

Dress CodePlease take a moment to review the RCA Parent/Student Handbook. All students are expected to comply with the Dress and Appearance Guidelines.

Sharing is Caring!
Each year, our RCA families do a wonderful job of sharing uniforms with one another, and we would love to continue that tradition this school year!
If you have uniforms that are still in good, usable condition and your family no longer needs them, we invite you to donate them. Uniform donations may be brought to the Principal’s Office.

We will have a table set up in the hallway near the Fellowship Hall where families can look through the donated uniforms and take items they need.
Thank you for thinking of others and helping us continue to build a spirit of generosity and community among our RCA families!
After-School Child CareAt Parent Orientation, I mentioned that we will offer after-school child care from 4:00 PM–5:30 PM. If you are interested in after-school child care, please contact Mrs. Haley for more information at [email protected]

Patriot Day — September 11In honor of Patriot Day on September 11, we encourage students to wear a patriotic T-shirt or any red, white, and blue T-shirt.

Parents, please make sure your child’s T-shirt does not contain any inappropriate wording, graphics, or slogans.

Tuition PaymentsLastly, please remember that all tuition payments are due on the 1st of each month and are considered late after the 5th.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support of Rosanky Christian Academy. We are thankful for each of our RCA families and are excited about what God has in store for this school year.
