May is near! I believe this is the busiest month for our students and staff. Students are trying to complete all their required work and we have lots of end-of-year activities.

Speaking of activities, here is a round-up of everything coming up:

The last day of school for all students is May 17. Please note that students in LC 5, 6, or 7 who still need to test in any Paces will be asked to come to school May 20-24. Your child’s teacher will let you know if your student needs to come to school any of these days.
 
Teacher Appreciation  
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. This is a time set aside to show love to our teachers, aides, and staff. We previously sent out contact info for Samantha Medina, to coordinate the teacher gift list for anyone wishing to contribute. We now have a signup here that Samantha put together, to make it easier to see what is available.

RCA AWARDS CEREMONY & COOKOUT
We are excited to share with you the accomplishments the students have made this year. We invite you to join us on May 17, at 10:00 am, for our 2023-2024 RCA Awards Ceremony. After the ceremony, we invite everyone to hang out for a fun afternoon outside. We will have several BIG water slides for the kids to enjoy and food will be provided for everyone. The calendar reads that school will release at noon, but we plan on being here till 3:00 pm with you and your kiddos. Parents, please plan on staying here while your kids are enjoying the afternoon. You are free to take your child home before 3:00 pm if you choose. The afternoon celebration will take place of our end-of-year field trip.

You can’t have a great week without a great Monday! It’s the 4th week of the 4th quarter. Wasn’t the weather this weekend beautiful? Today it continued and all the students enjoyed being outside.

Guitar Recital
We invite the whole school to join us on Thursday, May 2 for our Guitar Recital, at 6:00 pm, in the church auditorium.

Piano Recital
The Piano Recital will be during school hours, but you are invited to join us! The recital is on May 7, at 10:00 am, in the church auditorium.

Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up on May 6-10. We will send out more information soon on the themes, and how you can help. Typically, for this week, we send out daily themes and as parents bring items in, we offer to all of our staff. 

Iowa Testing
Iowa testing for students in LC 6 and 7 will start next week, April 23-25. Remember, the Iowa assessments are designed to help schools objectively assess students’ academic progress from year to year, but the results will not change the Paces that the student is completing. Parents, we request that if possible, you do not schedule any appointments for your students on the day of testing. If you have one scheduled already, please let your child’s teacher know right away.

Vacation Bible School 2024
RBC is excited to share that the date for VBS is locked in! VBS is a fun-filled week of bible study, recreation, crafts, snacks, and so much more. And it’s FREE. VBS is for all students in PreK-6th grade. We will send out more information soon so students can register online. VBS June 17-21
