Weekly Letter October 2nd10/2/2023 October 2, 2023
Welcome to October! Looking at the forecast, it might be time to start pulling out the cooler weather attire. Is anyone else excited about rain and cooler temps in the forecast?! We are now in the 5th week of the 1st quarter. Today, your child’s Progress Report will be sent home in the Parent Envelope (Learning Center 3 and up). Please make sure you review your child’s progress thus far. Remember that to be eligible for the Honor Roll field trip at the end of the quarter, your student must be completing the required number of Paces per quarter (3 per subject if on-level, 4-6 per quarter if behind in any subject), have an average of 88 or above, and must have said their class scripture 7 out of the 9 weeks of the quarter. They must also not have repeated disciplinary issues. Hearing and Vision Screening The permission slip for the hearing and vision screening will go home in your Parent Envelope today. Please fill out the permission slip and return it to your child’s teacher by this Thursday. The screening will be at school this Friday, October 6th. Early Release On Friday, students will be released from school at 2:00 pm. No School Columbus Day is October 9th, RCA will be closed. RBC/RCA Christmas Program This will be on Sunday morning, December 17th, at RBC. Students will be able to sign up starting early next week. Christmas in October Mark your calendars for our Christmas in October event on Wednesday, October 25th! From 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. We will have food and Christmas-themed games (including hay rides). Christmas in October is our annual Toy Drive, to help needy families over the holidays. We will be having a BATTLE OF THE CLASSES- a friendly competition- to see who can bring in the most toys. (All toys should be new). We are also looking for volunteers to help with games that evening AND to bake cakes/sweets for the cake walk—see the form in your Parent Envelope today. On the table, in the hallway near the fellowship hall, are clothes (school uniforms) that have been donated by students who have outgrown them. Everyone is welcome to take what’s there. At the end of the week, the clothes will be donated to Goodwill. Have a great day and a wonderful week, JR Regalado
